“I HAVE FOUND A PEARL OF GREAT PRICE….”
I haven’t been writing entries in my Secret Garden recently – I just find it hard to put into words what depth of feeling that I have experienced in listening to my Bible on tapes ( I know, no-one listens to tapes anymore – but I have this set and my personal tape player so started listening). Listening to God’s word spoken in context is a rich, wonderful experience. I would suggest to those of you who have Ipods or iphones – download at least the new testament and let God speak to you in a new way.
Matthew 13:45-47 (New King James Version)
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”
I feel I have found a pearl of great price in listening in a personal way the reading of God’s word.
I have listened to Revelation over and over and am absolutely awed at the promise of what is to come – more excitement than the best science fiction novel! It makes me very happy to know that my name is written in the lambs book of life! – And this is not fiction we are reading!!
I want to encourage every one of my girlfriends, family and friends to consider setting yourself up to listen to the Bible in context. YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME! Start with the New Testament – and go right through Revelation! I’m sure there is an app for your IPHONE or IPOD. – make the effort – it will change your life! I personally prefer listening to the New Living Translation – which is available in MP3.

God’s word is rich in answers to lifes problems. There is not a better source to find the experience of being loved. God’s word will send the demons of despair, discouragement, lust, indulgence, lack, sadness, all running for cover – they are powerless against the power of God
