OUT OF “SYNC”?
March 05, 2010
The dictionary defines “synchronized” as causing to occur at the same time. or “to operate in unison” or “cause to agree exactly in time or rate”. Have you ever felt you life was “out of sync”. Sometimes it is hard to pin point the problem. It is as if you are looking through a lens that wont focus. Things just aren’t clear and crisp and well defined. You are going through the motions of you commitments to God and family but your viewpoint is fuzzy.
For the Christian this is a red flag on the field – a call for time-out. The game is not going well and and you may have to sit on the bench awhile until you are seeing clearly to throw the pass or catch a ball intended for you.
Spiritually this can become dangerous ground if it continues undetected. But God knows us so well that he enters the game, calls us over and gives us a drink of living water that refreshes and invigorates us and we can once again see clearly.
He reminds us that we are thirsty beings and when we deprive ourselves of the living water of the word we become dehydrated and the result is we get “out of sync”.
Recently I experience a week feeling “out of sync” – stumbling through the week. God sent one of his servants along to remind me of His words:“Take my yoke upon you and LEARN from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:29,30. He reminded me that when I take time to learn from the Lord things will be in “sync” and my vision will be focused. What a drink of refreshing living water!
Paul reminded Timothy “you must continue in the things which you have learned….you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise” (It Tim 3: 14a,15b). Do you need help in making wise decisions – knowing your priorities – knowing you are in the right place at the right time? God says “learn of me”
