WISDOM!
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts.
Nor are your ways My ways” says the Lord
For as the heavens are higher than the earth
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
(Isaiah 55:8)
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Have you commanded The morning since your days began…does the hawk fly by your wisdom and Spread its wings toward the south?” Job 38:4 and 39:26
We get caught up with our wonderful minds. No doubt God has blessed mankind with an
amazing ability to think and reason. This very ability has caused many to come to a “belief
system” that is based on ideology – wonderful ideas – all resulting from the exercise of the
brain that God created. And yet he warns us about this very thing.
May we come to know in our hearts that the most intelligent thing we can do in our life is to gain reverence, honor, (accepting his word as final authority) of the Lord whereby we gain wisdom –
and to gain knowledge of the Lord, which will give us understanding. God hasn’t made it hard.
He gave us a whole book to search and find the knowledge of the Lord. He has given us ultimate truth – it is there in black and white. We have no need to search the philosophies of men and religions.
If we could get even a glimpse of the knowledge of the Lord and how He completely understands
us – our world and everything about us – life would not be so difficult. All of his promises become ours as we submit to this all powerful, all knowing God.
Do you “lack wisdom?..Ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5) Where could you find a better source for your search for knowledge
and understanding to life. There is, however, a requirement to obtain this wisdom – not money
or education or prestige or connections. It is simply stated in James 1:6 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind”. Doesn’t that paint a picture of those who search all the “religions” and philosophies – shifting
their thoughts from one idea to another but never coming to truth?
Truth is evident and abounding in the Word of God – But it must be sought after and then BELIEVED!
The door to this powerful, all-knowing, understanding God of the Universe has aKeyhole. You must have the key to enter His world. It is not hard to obtain – it is free and available to anyone who asks. The key is found in the Bible in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave
His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” The key to a relationship with this God and all that He offers is accepting the
gift of His son as our personal Savior and His forgiveness of our sins (past, present and future!) – What a deal!
A word from my heart…. if you have never done so, I would encourage you to take the most important step of your life and just ask God to forgive your sins and acknowledge that you are accepting the gift of Jesus Christ and His eternal life.
